Clean exterior of gas tank
I want to clean the exterior of my gas tank. I tried to attach a photo, hopefully it works. Can I sandblast this or is there a chemical I could use? Or should I just paint over top? Thanks

No photo, but is it brownish like this?
 I scrubbed it with soap and water and then rubbed it down with a degreaser on a paper towel, and painted it with Rustoleum Gloss Smoke Gray.  Mark
