Best 911 SC 3.0 Exhausts
Im a newbie to 911s and would like to upgrade the stock exhaust on my SC motor. Ive seen quite a few different exhausts out there and I wonder which have the best reputations for performance and longevity vs price. Borla, Bursch, Dansk, etc? Obviously SSIs are a good step forward, but what can I do to finish it off?

Matt,
If you do a search for SC exhaust or SSI or Dansk. You will get a huge amount on information. Recently a very large thread was discussed I this very subject. I think it came out that using SSI heat exchangers (early) with a Dansk Muffler was the verdict.

realize that SSIs will technically make you "smog illegal" in CA, so take that into account. You'll either have to find a station that doesn't do a thorough visual, or pull them every 2 years.

I am quite pleased with the sound from SSI's and Dansk stainless muffler. Remember too that you will need to re-route your oil line.

Hi Mat, us SC guys are a quiet spoken minority here on the BBS so I'm pleased you asked. Like 1982911SC and Harlan said the SSIs and a Dansk are a nice setup, and seem to be one of the most popular setups. You can release a few more HP by swapping out the cat for a Euro pre muffler, but as Todd pointed out it makes you car smog illegal, but it's a cheaper way to close to the same top end power for much less dollars.

Thanks a bunch guys, I appreciate the feedback. I actually have a '74 Targa with an '83 SC motor in it so I am **smog**exempt**. Its a ripper as it is but I can't wait to feel those 20 extra horses from the SSI's.
