Unhappy AAV filled with oil???

It's another case of "high idle when warm" syndrome. I've read many threads on this and appreciate all the knowledge out there, so here's a twist I hadn't read about yet. My idle had been hunting upon startup ever since I got my SC last November. It always was normal after warm up (nicely idling around 900rpm). Lately, I haven't had hunting problems, but rather a high idle on startup (1200rpm) and when warm (climbs up around 18-1900rpm). For a while, this seemed to be resolved by leaving it in gear when coming to a stop until the rpms were around 800. Again, nicely idling around 900rpm. Lately, nothing I can do seems to bring it back down. After reading a few threads on CIS and high idles, 2 things seemed most likely:

1. Sticking throttle linkage.
2. AAR stuck open.

A strong blip of the throttle ocassionally seemed to bring down the rpm from 18 to 1200rpm (though it would also rise up again sometimes). When the idle was high, the throttle was not affected by pulling up on the pedal or fiddling with the throttle at the engine. Scratch that from my list (I think??).

Yesterday, I took out the AAR valve (cold) and the valve was mostly open, though not completely. I could physically open it further with a screwdriver and could feel a nice spring resistance. It seemed sort of oily at the elect. connector and as I was trying to clean it, oil began to pour out from the interior of the valve. It was nearly full of oil!! The entering and exiting hoses were dry. Anyway, I drained the AAR as much as I could and put 12vdc to it. It closed completely after about a minute. I probably need a new one, but I put it back in for now. I'm getting 12vdc at the connector, so I assume, despite the oil, that it is still functioning. No change with high idle after warm.

Questions:

If the AAV were filled with oil, what else might be? AAR? decel valve? Could this be my high idle problem?

Could this have happened from over filling the oil? (I'm quite sure it didn't happen since I've owned it)

Other than the high idle, the car runs very strong all the way to redline.

Your help is appreciated.

I think I'm getting my acronyms mixed up. The AAR was filled with oil. Wondering about the AAV, etc...

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
