Has anyone done fog light upgrades non-stock?

Has anyone placed non-stock fog lights on thier 74 - SC 911. I am looking for something different. I like the stock look but it looks kind of dated.

I was thinking what else would look good. Right now I have stock SC fog lights on my 82.

Does anyone have any pictures or ideas?

Thanks,

I was thinking of getting the Hella FF550's that I saw on somebody's SC here.. big round, kind of a ralley look.

Haven't done it yet tho.

I'm tired of replacing the glass on mine. They're about six inches from the road surface. I have 100w high beams, so I probably don't need to convert them to driving lights. As fog lights, they are useless, even here where fog is common. I think I'm going to just remove them.

I just replaced the lenses on mine. Thought about going with amber but stayed with the clear. I'm curious to see what others are doing as well.

I believe Hella 550's are rectangular. The smaller 450's fit about perfectly in the opening of the later 3.2 Carrera valence..available as either a fog or driving light.

Uh, if you are breaking lenses get some stoneguard. It'll protect them.

Does PIAA make any fog lights that would look good on a 911? I keep saying Fog lights but in Arizona there is no fog just mirages. I would use them just as driving lights.

You know there are fog lights and driving lights, right? Driving lights project a beam far down the road past the low beams and fog lights project a low wide beam that doesn't go very far. For me Driving lights would be the ticket.

Hella and PIAA both make good driving and fog lights.

Here is a link to Pelican's Hella lights

And then you can do a search for piaa on yahoo or google for their offerings.

Steve,

So can you use driving lights around town or are the to bright? Is there something that I can use around town that will be good enough for highway driving too?

I would think driving lights would be OK as long as they are aimed correctly. I believe both makers make a fog/driving light with both in one housing too.

Around here with the trucks mounting both on the bumpers that are jacked up in the air it never crossed my mind.
