outside car cover

I'm looking for a cheap car cover for my early 911 for use outside. Just a shell would be fine as I have a soft inside cover already. Anyone got any ideas as to what I should get? I'd like to keep the cost as low as I can since I want ot move the car into the garage when I sell my car with the nice finish on it (a 1975).

Thanks!

I have used the generic Pep Boys car covers for the past 3 years. I have gone through 2 of them. It keeps the car clean and out of the sun. These covers have not scratched the paint, and I would notice with a black car. These covers do not "fit like a glove" but I really don't care. Each runs about $35.

Cool

I use a generic Wal-Mart type outer cover of a tyvek material. It works very well as an outer cover and is lightweight. It turns water well.

Good luck,

Costco has a Kimberley-Clark material cover that is thick and nice. A quality item for $45.

Randy,
Are you asking about a rigid cover that does NOT touch the car? Something of a temporary structure? If so, I saw a canopy at Costco the other day. Price was around $80. I think.

And I thought fitted covers that touch the car were for indoor use only. Years ago, while in the Navy, I used a fitted cover outside (non-Pcar )when we would go to sea for a day or two. Longer than that, I stored my car at a friends house. I used that cover many times and never noticed anything serious. Then again, my focus was more on other things ( never waxed that car ) and the cover came with it.
