You should contact Steve W. on this board. He sells remapped chips in California, and I'm sure he'll be up on smog issues.

Most chip manufacturers label them for off road use, only to cover themselves. The only way to check is to put the motor on the test pipe and take a read.....air cleaners most likely do not cause compliance issues.

Chips wil not fail the "visual" test like headers or lack of a smog pump.....it's all in the pipe....8^)

my sc just passed with a k&n, the tech did not even pop the top of the cleaner housing.
