A/C Compressor Mounting Bracket

I have an 84 3.2. A fellow Pelicanite has offered me a Sanden air conditioning compressor mounting bracket from his 82 3.0. Will it work on my 3.2?

Which bracket are we talking about? There is a bracket that the compressor is mounted to and that bracket is mounted to a bracket that is attached to the engine.

The bracket that the fellow pelicanite is offering sounds like a york to sanden bracket. It a universal bracket and should work with the a/c bracket that is on your 3.2 engine.

I don't have it yet, but I believe it's the bracket that bolts directly to the Sanden compressor. (Does that make sense?)

Yes that the York to Sanden bracket. I just order a similar bracket on Ebay.

Do a search on Ebay for "Sanden York".

If there is nothing currently forsale on ebay check the past sales. There are two type of York to Sanden bracket, one made from steel plates that are cut and welded and the other made from cast Aluminum. Since everyone seems to be concern about the weight of the A/C system I brought the Aluminum bracket.

I have a Seiki Seiko compressor and a Sanden 507 compressor along with the mini york compressor and a later model nippondenso.

When I get home this evening I will take some digital images and send them to you.

Edit: You will still have to use the bracket that your current compressor is mounted to with the York to Sanden bracket. You need the old bracket to allow the belt to be tensioned.

Which compressor do you have installed on the car?

I am still using the original York on my 82 Targa. It only has 57,000 miles and I get 36 degree temp at the vent when it's 85 outside. Top up the system last summer with R12 and it's still cold this summer.

I sent it to whatever account you've got linked to the little envelope next to your name. Probably Hotmail.
