Alternator?

I'm having trouble with the alternator idiot light staying on all of the time on my 68S. I haven't driven the car much but seems as if the battery is losing charge. The car has set for some time before I bought it. Could it be the the voltage regulator? How can I tell if it's the regulator or alternator.
Thanks

Mine does the same, it has a constant glow.

You will find it is the alternator. To test it do the following, with the engine turned off check the voltage at you batery with a multi meter, then start the car and test the votage. It should be higher.

My alternator is putting out 12.9 volts (should be about 14) which seem enough to stop the battery from going flat.

I use the car rarely so I guess I will just keep using the car until it dies altogether and then replace it. The auto electrician said it will die sooner or later. It has been glowing for the last year, so I guess it will go at some stage.

I have a friend and his has been doing the same for the past 3 years and it is his daily driver.
