964 Suspension - Part II

I started off with a suspension issue that turned out to be 'torch cut springs':

964 Suspension Issue

To solve this I bought a set of 965 springs and shocks/struts:

Assembling the fronts I now find the new springs are only about 1/2" longer than he ones that were cut!

Is it normal to not need a spring compressor to assemble the front strut? I can compress the spring a bit by hand and get the nut started.

Normal? Or is something wrong?

Are you talking about part number 965.xxx.xxx.xx for the Euro ride height or actual 965 springs?

True 965 springs are different and will not work.
