Really have to sell, but will be back!!!
I left a thread a while back that I was selling, but I held off as long as I could. Now I do have to sell to get the Townhouse and pay for the wedding. Next year I should get a nice bonus around Febuary so I will be shopping again. If anyone knows someone looking for a Mechanically excellent great looking car my car is for sale. I have had a good time on this board and will keep in touch because next year I am still debating between an NSX, 993, or 930. I saw my car next to an NSX the other day and now I know why I have always loved P-cars. The NSX lines do not compare. For questions on car check my prior threads. Any new questions are welcome. :( ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1058572584.jpg

Okay, I can understand the need for a place to live. But a WEDDING??? I guess maybe it's an East Coast thing? How much can a freaking wedding cost to be legal? Cindy & I drove to Reno a month (plus 28 years) ago. The cost was the car expenses from here to there, a motel room, meals, and $38 in fees at the Reno courthouse. We got there and returned in a 1972 911S, the car we still have. Man...if you feel the need to sell a car you like for some wedding expenses??? Hooboy, do I feel sorry for you. Weddings are cheap. Divorces are very expensive...well, that's what I've heard. Never done that divorce thing myself... |
If you upgrade to the 930 all will be forgiven.
Just look at mine. You know you want one . . . ;) http://www.tamparacing.com/gallery/d.../11516Pic4.jpg |
My wedding cost $40 and we're still happily married after 10 years and three kids. Think about it!

350HP - I love those rims.
88 - if she is the right one then the wedding costs won't matter. Have fun and enjoy! |

They are just an old beat up set of Mille Miglias that I picked up on e-bay for $600 for racing purposes and painted myself. It was a pretty good deal since they came with a set of slightly worn set of 235/40-17 and 275/40-17 BFG R1s mounted on them to boot. I get a lot of compliments on them since its impossible to tell they are a set of beater rims with some krylon enamel sprayed on them. It took a lot of filing and sanding to get the nicks out where they had apparantly fallen over numerous times, but it was worth it. While the black is sprayed on, the red trim is hand painted. Lots of people ask me where I got them and they always seem suprised when I tell them. If you would like to see some before and after pics I have some posted at the following address. http://www.tamparacing.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=11516 Here is after being prepped and before the paint. http://www.tamparacing.com/gallery/d...efore3-med.jpg When not auto crossing I am usually sporting my generic C2 cup wheels and hard toyo tires. http://anthonyrawson.com/cars/newcar.jpg |
If your car is a good one you really should think about keeping it and getting a signature note, a loan from relatives, a second job, robbing a bank, or something... February is not far off, and your next Porsche could be someone elses junk.

If you feel the wedding is important to you and your wife and families, then do as you see fit. My wife and I (15 years ago) had an awesome wedding with many of our friends. It was a day/night for us to remember always and our friends have talked about it many times over the years. We have stacks of photos that we look at from time to time and even though some of the people we no longer see (we moved overseas) the photos and occasional emails remind us of the good times with them. Our wedding was romantic, formal, informal, hilarious (the speeches were a riot) but expensive to some. Would I trade it for a car - yep probably, you only get married once, a car is just a car despite how much we might all love them. Weddings, for most people, are more than a 'legal' ceremony. The are a sharing of a committment and an expression of love. If you choose to do this on your own, so be it, but if you want to share it with others do so. Note too that a happy marriage and children has little to do with the cost of a wedding. Good luck to you and your future bride, I'm sure you wont regret any decision you make, whatever is right for you at this time, do it! Cheers MarkSmileWavy |
I agree with mark...but I have to ask...what ever happened to the father of the bride picking up the tab for the wedding? Am I just old fashioned?

When I began my search I initially didn't want the guards red since I thought it was too flashy and stereotypical. I wanted a grey/gunmetal 930 one instead. Since beggars can't be choosers when it comes to finding the right 930 I ended up with red anyways. I have grown to love it. |
