Carburetors do not have "velocity stacks". That's a term used for multiple intakes on injection systems.

Do you mean "air horns"? Or do you mean "intake manifolds"?

Yes I mean the "air horns"

There are many, many places on the net that refer to the air horns as velocity stacks for carbs. Type in Weber and velocity stack in google and see what comes up.

I'm 90% sure they are the same.

Velocity stacks are, well, stacks. The air horns are just the top of the stack. Since the carburetor itsself is effectively the stack, it doesn't really have a velocity stack.

The early MFI intakes came in 3 peices. The throttle bodies, the velocity stacks, and the air horns. Later MFI had the stacks and air horns made in plastic all as one piece.

Anyway, people can them what they want, but they are air horns, not velocity stacks.

Tyson, while I'm sure you are correct, you are splitting hairs here. Most so us call them velosity stacks. In the karting rulebooks, where they are banned, that's what they are called. An addition or extention to the carburetor. Maybe I could have run "air horns" and gotten away with it.

"Listen here Mister Tech Inspector, those are indeed not velosity stacks you found under those air filters, those are air horns. The rule book doesn't say anything about air horns. If you don't think those are air horns, you just talk to my friend Tyson here, he'll tell you."
