I was out driving old blue a few moments ago...got her running pretty good after fiddling w/ carbs for a bit.
I have great oil pressure according to the guage but the green light came on. Do these pick up at different places? Could I actually have an oil pressure problem somewhere in the engine even though the pressure guage reads A-OK? Help. Jay

There is a seperate oil pressure switch and guage sender.
From your description it sounds like the switch for the light has gone bad. I had to replace the one on my 930. It was an easy job since mine was located by the case breather vent and oil thermostat. |

350HP930 ...that is just sick.
I hope you are right and that is all it is ...sometimes paranoia can sneak up on you. Jay

I am 400HP930 on another board, but ever since my Andial fuel enrichment device went kaput I have to keep the boost under one bar. For this reason I downgraded my user name on this board. My last dyno run with reduced boost and a bit too lean of an a/f ratio got me about 300HP and 325TQ at the back wheels. Once I get my car back together I am optimistic I will be able to exceed 400HP at the back wheels. ![]() |

pretty sick HP numbers but man that must be fun. I remember years ago when comparitively my then 2.7 high comp. engine, sprint cams etc. was fast I used to like to embarrass camaros and mustangs ...harder to do now but probably not in your car. ...not advocating street racing or anything.

Lets just say that I am used to not having any traffic ahead of me after getting stopped at any lights.
![]() When I lived in Daytona Beach I was used to being a big fish in a little pond. Despite some supercharged camaros and a guy with a turbocharged carrera rumored to have over 500 HP no one really was able to get the better of me. Hell, I even matched a Diablo that I came across while trolling around one night and the guy did not seem very pleased about his super dooper exotic getting matched by a 14 year old porsche. I have been seriously humbled after moving to Tampa though between the serious automobiles that exist in the area and the decline of my 930. I'm also an avid auto-x nut. Lets just say that I need to build a large shelf to keep all the trophies on. The only good thing about the car going downhill is that my back tires last me a lot longer. When I first bought my car I was lucky if my rear tires would last longer than 5,000 miles. ![]() |
