Early Underbumper Fog Light Mount
I need some details on how the 69-73 Hella 169 underbumper fog lights are mounted. This is what it looks like with the cover plates removed. (The opening itself and the bracket are quite crudely finished, BTW!) None of my reference material show how these lights mount. -- Curt

Curt, afraid I can't help you on the how of it...but you know, I always thought the underbumper fogs looked cool...and even though my car was built with the thru the grille fogs, I don't think they look as good as the earlier style.

Is there a nut welded to the light assembly, and an allen going forward to keep it in place? It'd be a shame to have to remove the bumper to install them.

On my 69's, the fog lights have a single mounting screw with a large washer, a curved plate and a nut (which I upgraded to a lock nut!). The curved plate takes care of aiming and you just twist yourself under the car and tighten it.
No allens, no welded nuts. I bought soem NOS replacement for mine which made a world of a difference, I like them so much, they now wear bras (easy guys!). Any other queries??

I don't have the lights yet (still looking for a set). So the screw on the back of the light goes thru the hole on the left shown in my photo??? If anyone has a closeup photo of the lights mounted, that would be great. Thanks Juan! -- Curt
