Turbo charge any car

Any truth to this link?

I know it can be all that, yet is it a little bit? Just curious as if anyone tried this on any vehicle.....

Hmmmm...

"Typical range of improvement over baseline is:
0 to 35 increase in horsepower,

0 to 31.85% increase in fuel economy."

I'd bet on the zeroes.

Interesting.

From the homepage:

Quote:
Installation is simple and easy. If you can put a hub cap on, you can install the SpiralMax ®. The primary unit is placed in front of the throttle body intake on EFI cars, inside the intake tube or aftermarket intake. For carburetor and TBI cars, it is placed after the air filter and around the intake.
From their FAQ:
http://www.spiralmax.com/spiral2.htm

Quote:
Frequently Asked and Answered Questions

Q1: Are there any negative effects using SpiralMax ® on my car/truck?
A: No, there are no negative effects with SpiralMax ®, it merely swirls the air into the combustion chamber and has the California Air Resource Bureau # EOD 400-6 SpiralMax ™ has the California Air Resource Board EOD 400-6 number which makes it legal to advertise, sell and install on all internal combustion engines for Vehicles of Any Year; will not void new car warranty, it is street legal in all (50) fifty states of the United States of America.

Q3: I have a blower/supercharger, or turbocharged car already, does it help?
A: Yes, those devices are expensive and force more air in, SpiralMax ® takes that air and swirls it for even better combustion.

Q8: Why is the SpiralMax ™ a smart turbo and a good buy?
A: What other product can produce this kind of performance, cost less than $80, last forever, and you don't need to maintain anything on it? What kind of product has this, and also offers money back guarantee, and lifetime warranty? Every car should have one. . .
Sounds too good to be true...

Is it time for a "Spiralmax" thread again? Seems like only yesterday ...
Anyway; can you say "snake-oil"?

I had to look at the date on this thread. I would have bet my left arm it was originally started two years ago.

Why do those things look familiar? (performance products used to have a product like that in their catalog called the tornado something)

The previous owner of my SC installed one of these things...I found this out when the car had to be towed back to the shop. One of the blades on the unit ended up getting bent somehow...which affected the movement of the metering plate. The car ran/runs better without it.

Of course if you install a spiral max, you will need a cool collar as well to deal with all of the extra heat
