The manufacturers of these oils claim that they "condition engine seals, maximize horsepower, clean internal engine components, reduce oil consumption, protect against oil leaks, improve cold starts and protect against wear." Has anyone tried any of them? According to one article I read, "Using premium motor oil specially formulated for higher-mileage cars -- such as Castrol GTX High Mileage Formulation -- will also help higher-mileage cars feel young again."
I've used regular Dino Castrol 20-50 in the past and I'm considering using the new "high mileage" Castrol 20-50 in my 120,000+ mile '73 911E. http://www.castrolusa.com/products/default.asp?prod_mp=1 Although making my car "feel young again" is quite a promise, my car still fells pretty "young" so that's not a concern (I'm not looking for snake oil to revitalize my engine) but I'd be very interested in better engine protection and protecting against the almost inevitable oil leaks. Anyone use any of these oils yet? Got any recommendations or advice? Thanks

I'm using the Castrol 20/50 High Mileage in my BMW.
I was using Mobil 1, but my car started really going through the stuff. It consumes quite a bit less of the Castrol 20/50. I didn't have any oil leaks before, and still don't. 141,000 miles. |

P-Thomas suggested that I try the Valvoline Max Life. He thought it had helped with some slow leaks on his car. So, I changes to it and I too belive that it "helps" with some leaks.
I like it and will probably continue to use it.
