HAHA: eBay seller knows WE are watching...

Check out this eBay ad for a 1973 911S . In the description the guy writes:

"Comes with original jack and tool kit (includes hard to find Klein spark plug tool & allen). Undercoat is fully intact, NO RUST anywhere, never driven on salty roads. Defects are (hi pelican sleuths), rip in the fabric of the drivers seat, a fairly common crack in the dash just to the right of the instrument cluster, an unfortunate scar from a recent bump from another vehicle (broken drivers side tail light plastic, and half dollar size scrape on top painted part of the bumper), the other day I found that one of the metal wing nuts (original plastics lost) holding the air filter cover fell off"

Go easy on him guys...

That's a good point, I am amazed the things you guys get from an ad & a photo. Cars get shreaded faster than a Texas twister around here.

The seller is a Pelicanhead. That's a plus for anyone thinking of buying that car.

Nice car, guy seems to know his stuff and has done some upgrades. I wonder why he is selling with only 20K miles on the rebuild.

Actually, I think they were up late I saw the post last night, and there hasn't been any addtions yet today.

Bidding is up from 11K to 14K, it'll be interesting to see what an east coast S goes for tho'.

I really like the posts where you guys rip... err... "evaluate" cars forsale. Lots on interesting stuff usually comes out of it (thing to look for) that's helpful to us wanna-bees.

I really dig the plaid inserts, but then again, I've gotten used to plaid interiors as my vw bus has one:

True, but the registry wasn't actually mentioned in the ad...first doesn't mean anything if you don't get the press.

Wasn't there a red S targa for sale in NY about a year ago that was from Italy originally??? I think RoninLB actually went and checked it out, and found a lot of questionable stiff IIRC...????

What's up with S's coming here from Italia?

Early S Registry? Hmm, I completely forgot that even still existed. Do people still post there? Got to check it out...

Porsche Crest Interesting

Interesting find. I'm tempted to take a look. If DeMan is the wrench it's probably a good one.

Hi fellas,

It's my car. Don't make too much fun, it's hard enough as it is. It's at a friends house outside the city now, but I'm bringing it into the city very soon to make it easier to show the car. Sorry about the case number instead of engine number, brain fart on that one, and I didn't write it down so I'll post the change as soon as I get back to it and get the engine #. I'm selling it because it's my only car and I'm looking for a more 'new york-able' car. Between the pot holes and the salty season up here, it just stays locked up, and that's a shame indeed. It's never been for sale before, although I've been struggling with reality for quite a few months now. I found the car in NC, not sure why the previous owner grabbed an Italian euro car, but I love the euro 73's One often find unusual options on those. Thanks for all the compliments on my baby BTW...you guys are great and that's why I give you heed and recognition on ebay Rick is familiar with the car, and he can vouch for the car, although I don't know if he'll appreciate me sending a bunch of calls his way...but oh well. Anyway if anyone wants to look at it, I plan on bringing it in sometime tomorrow. I'd love for a fellow pelicaner to have it! Heck if it's local I may have to sue for visitation rights

Brad

well I am sorry...

my attempt to instigate a friendly little bboard vs bboard competion...a simple plan to promote discussion and identify a nice p car has backfired. The ripping occured on the early s t-shirts team. Oh well...still a sweet car.

Shawn.

Um yes, but...

I just hate to lose. However, this morning, Johnny Riz called me a pimp and that kinda made my entire day.
