Insurance Woes

Anyone know where I could get an appraisal done in the Orange County area. Any phones # 's would be a help.

My insurance company gave me the names of the places to take it. If they put a # that you feel is too low on the car, just let them know you want a second opinion. I beilieve they called it "arbitration" or something to that affect. They gave me the # of a couple of places to which to take it. Your insurance co. should have them on file for you.

No A/C, no Sun Roof, no power windows. Fast and light, just the way I like it. (Sad to say, it's sold. But at least it remains with us on this board.)

They told me to take it to the dealer. I could imagine a bill of $200 and an appraisal price I won't like, since they know jack on old cars.

Interesting. At the time, I was using Mercury Ins. and they gave me a couple of #'s, but they were both body shops. The guy crawled all over the car and took a few photos. The # went from $8.5K to $11.5K, but I still wasn't satisfied, so I went with Leland West since it's a second car that very rarely gets driven. They like others have "agreed value." I said 15K, so they base the rates on that. But it sounds like yours is a daily driver? Either way, if you get a suggestion, I would check with the ins co first to make sure they will acknowledge it.

Anybody else have any experience with daily driver insurance appraisals?
