P1140 trouble code on '96 993
I have a P1140 trouble code that seems intermittant (fuel & air metering system...pretty general.) Selling dealer was a big vague about what they saw when trying to diagnose it, and I've yet to take to my regular mechanic. The dealer looked car over twice and cleared code each time after claiming to not find anything. They probably didn't want to spend too much time on it as they weren't charging me for the looksee.
I read code a third time and cleared it to see if the same code comes up again. Car runs fine. Again, pretty general clues. Anyone want to comment? Paul

According to this: http://p-car.com/technical/obd2.html
P1140 is "Load Signal"; I'm guessing the MAF. CRC makes an aerosol MAF cleaner, that might be worth a shot. But this is just a guess on my part...

BTW, if you search on P1140 DTC's you'll get everything from "water in fuel" to "Bank2-Sensor2 Internal Resistance too High" (another good guess).
