flat 6 engine weight?

Can anyone accurately advise me the weight of a magnesium case, alloy cylinder, MFI or carb induction motor, fully dressed (alt, fan, loom, ignition, oil cooler etc) - without any exhaust?
This is not a shipping exercise, I am involved in some preliminary R&D for a porsche powered vehicle and was hoping someone has this weight number - with some accuracy.
+/- 5lbs is good enough, but it would need to be from a source where you can validate the weigh-in process.

Many thanks,

Hayden

A mag case carbureted motor with exhaust weighs 387 pounds.

A mag case MFI motor with exhaust weighs 402 pounds.

The last time I weighed SSI's plus a factory style Dansk muffler it weighed 54 pounds total.

Yes, but do you know what the sonar frequency of a Lebanese cave bat is?

Tyson,

Thanks mate.
Were those weights with a flywheel and clutch mounted?

Actually, most bats run around 50 kHz -- not as high as you might think.

Interested parties can start reading with "Listening in the Dark" -- by Don Griffen.

** Didn't think anyone would know a real answer, eh?

Back to engines: I have accurate wts. for a 3.2L exhaust -- Email me or post here if you want them. - Randy

The weight of a bat with clutch and mounted flywheel is approximately 36.7 lbs. However, that depends on the bat and whether the flywheel is stock or lightened. Clutch cover can also be steel or aluminum. At any rate, sonar is the only thing the bat will be able to do dressed in this manner.

We have covered Lebanese bats, but what about African and English?
