Can I use Aeroquip hose with Earl's fittings?

Hi, I'm getting ready to do a bunch of fuel line replacement (CIS 930 engine), and just need a quick answer on using -6AN lines and fittings:

Is it OK to mix and match hose and fittings - say, use Earl's fittings with Aeroquip line?

Or do I really need to stay within the same brand for both hose and fittings? I like the Aeroquip hose (and prices) better, but am committed to using Earl's fittings on the project.

Thanks!
Colin

yup - ideally AN is AN is AN - they should be standard across the board and I think that Pegasus racing even sells whatever they have in stock.

Yep, but the fitting manufacturers have warnings on their sites, telling users not to mix and match.

It wasn't clear to me if these warnings were written by the marketing department, legal department, or Product Design department. I guess it's one of the first two.

Yes it not a problem at all. Like other have said the "AN" is a standard, many manufacturers make parts that meet this standard (competitive bidding for gov't contracts you know)

You can mix and match XRP, Earls, Aeroquip... Walk into a supply house for the fitting someday... ask for a -12 90 deg fitting.... the person will open a drawer and probably have more than one manufacturers fittings in the drawer. they all will work.

or you can be anal and insist and pay more for hose fittings etc from the same manufacturer, instead of market prices

OK, now I'm getting confused. I went ahead and ordered some Earl's hose ends, along with some Aeroquip hose and a few Aeroquip ends. It sounds like it should be OK, but Dean has given me some great advice over the past few months. Dean, why would you not do this?
Thanks,
Colin

Some of the hose looks different to me so I would just use what the manufacture say to use. Mixing the different AN fittings is not a problem. Maybe I am paranoid
