Absolutely Unbelievable Video

I questioned myself whether or not this link should be posted, as it depicts the purposeful destruction of an early 911.

This is for broadband only, as the file is about 44 meg.

This may be a bit rough for some, myself included, but I can't help wonder what kind of people would do this?

This was posted earlier and I need help to view it. Windows Media Player stopped loading it at 5%, so all I see is a 911 skidding. It does not seem to be interested in continuing to load the video. Perhaps if I can find the file portion that has been loaded, I can delete it and let my system start over.

Ron - you should have done a search first. Of every conceivable keyword. In fact, nothing should be posted on this board without an exhaustive search first.

Actually, if you do a search on the word "search", you come up with a lovely 6614 results.

Scolding seems to be the thing to do here. :\

Somebody's got to have the answer to my question. Where has my computer stored this video? I figure if I delete it, then when I click on the link, it may load. When I click on the link now, it seems to believe I have loaded the file. But I only have the first five seconds. I want to see the carnage.

If you have a windows machine right click on the start button and select "explore". From the windows explorer window right click on your c drive (or "My Computer") and select search. Type in something like *.mpg and run it. Users can configure where downloads go on their system so its hard to tell where you might have saved the file. Try right clicking on the link
http://www.mr-pinchback.de/911destroying.mpg, select save target as..., and the dialog should pop up at the directory you last tried to save to.

sigh

In my mind, it was a flood recovery, rust-filled 912 that would have been a money pit to own and they made look good on film.

That way I won't cry myself to sleep tonight.

Superman-
in addition to the advice given above, I'd recommend deleting ALL your temporary internet files.
When you are at a webpage (like reading this pelican page),
Click Tools, Internet Options, then click on button for Delete Temporary Internet Files.
(Hopefully) that should clear up your problem. You also might try the QuickTime version of the file - I have problems viewing Windows Media files while at work (I think our firewall blocks them), but QuickTime files run fine.

hope this helps.

Superman, you can also use the free "Getright" to download big files.
You can go offline in the middle of downloading and start back without losing any of the file. It also finds mirror servers so you can bump up the download speed.
Also to preview the vid and see if its worth waiting for: while it's downloading to the desktop make a copy of the file and then erase the ".Getright" part of "Video1.mpg.Getright".

Wink

If indeed it was a real factory ducktail that was destroyed, wouldn't it increase the value of the remaining real ducktails?
