gauge refurbishment

I want to fix that wonderful bounce and wobble in the needles of my tach and speedo, and clean up all my gauges. Is this reasonable to do on my own or should I send them out? I dont want to spend a ton of money that could go elsewhere but I want to fix this. I saw the technical article on repairing gauges, but mine still work, I just want to tighten them up. I was also wondering if I could change the faces to have the numbers start at the bottom (race style) without sending them out.

Comments/questions/suggestions/snide remarks appreciated

I just opend my gauge. The edge(where you put the flat screwdriver ) looked ugly but there is nothing you can you about it. I think the pro shop has the press to push it back in. For us, just do the best you can.

North Hollywood Speedometer

Thanks guys but my question is if I can fix wobble by going through the do-it-yourself process. I called north hollywood and Palo Alto and it looks like about 150 each to fix the tach and speedo, then if I want special faces its a lot more besides. I'm 18 and don't have a huge budget for my rebuild so I would prefer to save unless this is the only way to go.
