interchanging seats
Hi i have a pair of 80 sport seats froma 911 without mounting brackets Will my 72 stock seat brackets bolt up to the 80 sport seats?

The short answer is that you need an adapter to bolt the '80 seats into your '72. I've seen them advertised, maybe Pelican carries them.
The bigger problem is how to mount seatbelts. Your '72 has the belts mounted directly to the seats, where the sliders attach. The '80 had mounts in the floor. So, if you install the '80 seats in your car, then you will have to cobble something together to mount the seat belts. I have not seen a satisfactory adaptation of the seat belt mounting arrangement. Maybe someone on this board has a bright idea. |

You can make the adapters yourself with stuff from Home Depot. 2"X1/8 mild steel flat stock. You will have to weld "ears" on the outside of the rails to mount you seat belts. Or you can buy all you need from our host or petco.com. Rails are $110.00 ea seat, and seat belt conversions are $150.00 per seat.
