Throttle response
 

When I up-shift my 88 911 and keep the revs at about 4000 RPM's, the revs drop as would be expected. However when I really wind it out to maybe errrr 5500 RPM's when I up-shift, the revs don't drop . There seems to be more of a lag there. In fact the RPM's seem to increase a little. Is this normal? Any ideas?
Also a question about clutch pedal travel. My hydrolic clutch seems to engage quite high up. Can this be adjusted?

Jack, your clutch will engage high up, no way to adjust it as far as I know. You'll get used to it.

10 to 1 the other thing you are noticing is a result of not getting off of the gas as fast when you wind it to 5500 as when you wind it to 4000.

Oh, and one note "really wind it out" means redline. If you stop at 5500 you are cheating yourself and the car!! ;)

I would guess your clutch is worn out. There are some adjustments that you can do to the pedal ass. but I don't think that is your problem
