Cheap! and not bad looking if you could get that corny "racing" thing off the back.

Yea, I saw some at Pep Boys too! I even sat in a few. Don't laugh, but they were nice. They even have a simulation leather one that's very comfy and snug. Looks just like real leather too. RRR Racing. Or Tripple R racing. Not sure. I think they were cheaper than that add, though. Plus, no shipping charge.

Would you guys all turn up your noses at me, if I get a pair?

CHILI,

If you get the faux leather ones you can take a magic marker and black out the letters. I not a bad look if they are built right.

Chili I am going to get a pair of the black faux leather ones as soon as we get moved. I think they are sporty and comfortable and you know this because you get to before you buy. Plus they are sooo cheap.

If these are the same as the ones at pep girl, they do not have a handle which will allow them to fold forward or backward, limiting easy acces to the back seat area. The seatback can only be adjusted with the knob on the side. Otherwise, not bad for the money.......

No they are a little different than the Pep Girl seats Let us know how comfy they are and if they would work for larger guys. Also, I will be interested to see what gyrations are necessary to install.

I just revisited these 3R seats at Pep Boys and can report:
- about $179 each for cloth or vinyl ( various colors)...about $229 each for real leather ( black only) and the leather version has more pronounced bolstering. Actually, surprisingly nice and looks like good durable materials and good stitching quality. Alas...no button to allow to flip forward..D*mn !

You guys got me curious, so I went down to visit Manny, Moe, and Jack.

It seems there are three versions of these seats. The first one was a cloth mesh and seemed really uncomfortable, with little thigh support and almost no side bolstering. I didn't see a price on that one.

The second one was the "leather" seat, and it too was very uncomfortable. While it had much better thigh support, the bolstering on the sides seemed like it was made for umm, how shall I say, someone a bit "wider" than me. (I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs.) It was a nice looking seat, however. $229.

The third one was much better. (Is this starting to sound like a nursery rhyme, or what?) Thigh support was very good and the side bolstering fit me quite well. It was covered in a hideous black and red perforated vinyl, but would probably look good in black cloth. $179.

All had holes for harnesses in the back but none had a sub-strap hole. As far the tilt forward feature, none had it, but it looked like several in the display picture were so equipped. Maybe it's an option.

Very tempting, to say the least. I'm wondering if they would be legal for PCA time trials and such; though I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be.

Jim

got the seats and they are very nice, all black, about 25 pounds, the material is almost a canvis, but very snug. For our less fit members im not sure, there snug around my shoulders so if your soggy around the midsection or have junk in the trunk these might not be the best for you.
