911R and 911ST

Hi,

My name is Tor Helge Ludvigsen and I`m from Norway.
I`m looking for 911R, ST and Rally cars from that time.
A friend and I are working on a book project on these models in cooperation with Mr. Jurgen Barth at Porsche. Everything is of interest,
as long it`s one of the series Rs or the 4 prototype Rs or STs (not replicas). Any Porsche/car meetings with photos, old photos, names of owners, pre owners and how to get in contact. Just evertything that has to do with these cars. We have a lot of info allready so it might be that we allready have seen it but please send us links or info if you have some. We know that most of these cars are in the US, and we still have to see one ourselves. We appreciate all help and maybe there will be published a book one day
Please send me a PM if you know something.

Best Regards
Tor Hegle Ludvigsen

You will find many, many captioned photos of R's and ST's on this website:

http://www.motorracingretro.com/index.htm

You might also try a search of the Pelican website - there have been numerous discussions regarding these cars. Good luck. -- Curt

Tor,

Pose this request on the Early 911S Registry message board.

Early 911S site

At the RGruppe meeting in Monterey there was a 911ST there that was driven around by Chuck Miller. Here is shot of it.

The car pictured above is a '68 911 T/R. The ST flares were added later. It is a great car - Chuck was driving it for the owner and gave me a ride in it while I was at Monterey.

Ernie W who posts here some time is an authority on these cars and may already have been in contact with you Tor.

Thanks for helping out guys. I appreciate. The T/R has a Swedish flag on the door and the numberplate under the US one looks Norwegian??? Strange that I dont know about the car if it is here. Who is the owner?
More photos?

I will take contact with Ernie. My friend is in contact with Jim in the UK.

I saw a Red ST at Black Forest in San Diego, CA when I was having a PPI done. It was a customer's car, but you might contact them and they might put you in touch with the owner. I saw the car in January of this year.

Tor,
The following was taken off Mark Waring's World-Wide Classics web site www.wwclassics.com…

Mark sold the T/R to my friend Stephen Childs a couple of years ago…

It was truly a great pleasure to drive last May at Monterey…

Cheers,
Chuck

Year: 1968
Description: 911 2.0 Drive: LHD Colour: Gulf Blue/Orange Interior: Black Recaros Mileage: 58,000 Kilometers

Comments:
12th Overall in the 1968 Monte Carlo Rally driven by Ake Anderson and Sven Olof Svedburg this car was found in its almost timewarp 1973 condition. Upgraded in 1969 to Group 4 GT specification it now sports a twin plug, factory 906 type, 2.0 engine with titanium rods and produces an impressive 220Bhp. The car is being prepared for future historic races. 4th in Tour Auto 2001 driven by myself and Christopher stewart.

Tor, is your friend's name Thomas Skogli ?

The reason I ask is that there was a very similar request from Norway (regarding research for a book about the 911R) almost exactly a year ago:

911r

I know the current owner of one of the prototypes (here in London) - R#3 which has just finished a total restoration for use in competition & I also have a large collection of photographs of another of the prototypes - R#4 :
