Photos of 3.2 fuel hardlines from tunnel to engine bay...

Anyone have photos of 3.2 fuel hardlines from the rear end of the tunnel to engine bay?

Especially trying to visualize how they enter the engine bay to see if they might be workable for a 1969T.

I just put a 3.2 fuel system in my '69 to support the new motor.

I recently installed a set on a customer 912 which is going EFI route.
Not difficult at all to install.
well, I did it with engine and fuel tank out of vehicle.
Drilled/opened both holes and inserted both lines.

Here's my 3.2 rear fuel line install in my '69 911:

Prelim. assumption:
Carbureted cars use a deadhead (single) fuel supply line. If upgrading to a FI engine, the fuel tank must have a return line. An MFI or EFI tank is one answer. I added a BoxsterGT flex line from the tank/pump to the rear bulkhead. The factory rigid fuel line was then used as the return line.

View from LR control arm with rear bulkhead angled at 3'oclock. Len's flex line (yellow zip-tied) from the bulkhead exit to a rear chassis midpoint where it joins a section of a sectioned 3.2 rigid fuel line......


.....via Len's included compression adapter, factory rigid line on left, Len's flex line on right, under my 3.2 ECU harness routing:

Completed fuel supply line to engine compartment fuel filter:

Thanks again for the responses. I still don't see how the hardlines go into the engine bay. From this it appears there must be a hole in the 3.0/3.2 that doesn't exist in the 69 engine bay:

The chassis are the same...

There is a gap between the Rear Torsion Bar Tube and the Rear Crossmember above it. The lines run up through this gap at the Left corner...



There is usually a strip of foam that fills this void and keeps the heat of the exhaust from getting up into the motor.

Pull this foam down and you will find lots of room for these Green Steel Hardlines. Of course, when done, don't forget to replace this foam strip.

You also should note the Tunnel Lines have unique Euro Flare Fittings to mate with these Hardlines....



Also, the late SC Green Hardlines are NLA, and are different from the 3.2 Carrera Green hardlines.

I have a NOS pair of the SC lines if anyone needs them.

However, with the mismatch of fittings you will have to deal with, it would be a lot easier to use Crimped E-85 Rated Hose.

Just my 2 cents.

If you tell us what you have for the present fuel system in your 69T, we can offer lots of detailed information on this install.

A 3.2 in a early 911 is a pretty common upgrade.

Len, I should have known you would know. That is just what I was looking for. Frankly was trying to understand the benefits of custom lines over OEM. I get the tank to tunnel OEM one piece potential issues (with later replacement being harder) and possible tight space challenges up front vs your 2 pc. Was trying to see what the benefits were of tunnel >> engine bay custom lines over OEM. Sounds like the answer is: somewhat easier routing with flexible lines and maybe some cost savings. Correct me if I am missing something here.

They RUST to the point where they become almost impossible to take apart with normal wrenches.
