Early 911 crop duster
Hello all,
My 73.5 T was out of order for about 3 months. All the while it continued to leak oil onto the heat exchangers (which also leak). I've now gotten the car running again but the couple times I've started it it has been a virtual oil smoke fest! Any guesses on how long it'll take me to burn off this and for the smoke to clear? The car only puffed on start up before, so I'm hoping I can get this cleared up. I'm a little hesitant to fog my way around the neighborhood if you think I might be able to let it idle away in the driveway for awhile. I'll be the guy wearing a hat, sunglasses and a ski mask if you see me in Portland! Jeff |

Jeff,
A spirited drive in the country backroads for two - three hours should clear out the smoking. I would suggest taking the car to a 'wand wash' carwash and spending a couple of dollars with full soap [not degreaser -- too potentially harmful to paint] to knock off as much of the buildup as possible before starting the country drive.

Warren,
Thanks for your reply. Looks like a roll of quarters this Saturday morning should get me on my way. Jeff |
