Any sportmatic guru's out there?

Hey Guys,

My buddies car, same one with the 2.7 crapping out, has a sportmatic. The thing won't shift into Park or reverse, only 1 and 2. Sometime goes easy, sometimes want to grind.

I've replace the contact switch already, no help. Anything quick I can look for?

If you are sure the contacts are OK then check the following. (1)
Double check your points replacement by looking at the operation of the sporto servo 'bellows' as you shift through the gears (car stationery) to see if they function in every gear if not the points are fouling somewhere on the stick .
(2) Any sign of an oil leak around the bell housing , if so the clutch could be contaminated (but it shouldn't shift , period if that was the case , but it's possible).
That's it for starters you didn't mention gears 3/4?
