OK, so I have started looking around for a P201(engine stand) I can get one for 260 pounds here in the UK, and from our host they are 232 dollars.
Now does anyone know of any cheaper uk suppliers, I would gladly buy from Pelican but then I get stung on import duties etc etc. Anyone have a second hand one lying around they no longer want I mean its just a bit of steel at the end of the day?? Why should it be so much more here than in the States? Regards Jakes

Sounds the same as everything else we buy here! We always seem to pay the same amount in ££ (or more!) as our US friends pay in $$!!!
Can't say I know of any second hand ones, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you. How's it going, have you done any more detective work or was the oil filter enough for you? ![]() Cheers

LMAO Yep, buttoned her up, put new oil in and she purrs like a kitten. I have done no more, too much work(normal work), and I know that if I just do a little bit I will get soooo frustrated at not being able to do more and end up not enjoying it.
I am hoping to drop it within the next couple of weeks or so but at the rate my current project is going it might be next year before I see the inside of her. Cheers Jakes

You could try www.type-911.co.uk, Matthew has always given me excellent service, can't guarantee he'll be cheaper though.

Jakes.
I was reading a 2 year old issue of 911 & P World last night and I'm pretty sure I saw an ad by a supplier selling engine stands for £100. I'll try to dig it out again this weekend.

Thanks guys, I got the price I quoted from type911, they are usually pretty good on their other prices. I had not thought to phone Bert, but I did do a search on his site (it was not listed)
Anyway, back to work Cheers Jakes

Jakes.
In case you haven't bought the engine stand yet, try Machine Mart on 0115 956 5555. I got the number from a 2001 ad in 911 & Porsche World. They were advertised for £100. Hopefully they haven't bumped up the price too much since then.
