PCA Quest question
I expect to be purchasing a p-car within the next 30 days. Is it worth $40 to join PCA Quest? Or chould I just join PCA after the purchase?

I'm a member for 10 years and find it worth it just for the Panorama magazine plus a lot of supply houses give a discount to members. It's also a good source for used Porsches
Welcome to the board :) |
I have no doubt that belonging to PCA will be worth it but you have to be a Porsche owner to join. As I understand it PCA Quest is a one time 6 month subscription for non-owners that costs $40 which does not apply toward joining PCA. Can you subscribe for PCA Quest for longer periods?

No, you can't be in PCA Quest for more than 6 months. However, if you're sure to buy a car very soon, you might as well wait and join the PCA when you have the car.

I'm seriously looking for the "right" 911. Will the Quest membership help me find it (do PCA members typcially list their cars for sale exclusively in the Mart)?
|
I joined the quest soley for the pano ads. If you are paying the quest membership for the ads dont forget that its going to take them a little while to process your application. If you plan to buy a car within the next 30 days you probably will not have received your first pano by then.

If you want to buy the "right" one, then join Quest and give yourself the 6 months to look for it. Don't expect to find the right one within 30 days or you'll probably end up with the wrong one.

Pano at $40 is not a bad deal for the ads alone when you add up what you'll spend in time and newspapers, magazines, and the PML at $55/year.
Or you could ask a PCA member to show you the online classifieds. |
If you call the New York office and subscribe they will send you a copy of the magazine right away.
