Battery suggestion...with no mods needed

Hey all,
Would anyone suggest a battery I can drop right into my 1982 SC without having to do any mods to get it in and hooked up. I am not really concerned with weight. However, it would be nice to have something that would not leak! (as I am dealing with at the moment-at least I caught it fast) I am going to be putting in a new alternator and battery this week. Is a dry cell a decent choice? Is there a decent Optima alternative without have to build a platform, etc? Thanks!!!

Go with stock, I guess. I mean, "no mods needed"? IMHO, the optima is far superior to the original battery. But you do need to do some "mods". FWIW, the optima in my Dodge pickemup is 9 year old, still going stong..

Interstate MTP-91. Not as long as stock but there should be a fixed nut to thread the battery hold down into.

Just go with the Optima with the orange top. It is the same as the red top only the ground and the positive are on different ends and the mounting is correct for the 911 tray. This was what I was told from my Optima dealer that sells me the red tops. This is the first one that I have put in a Porsche 911 but I have had great luck with red top ones in lots of different cars. The man put a small piece of wood in to fill the space so the battery could be flush with the front (small) end of the stock battery tray. You can get trick and put metal or plastic in to fill the space from the back end of the batery to the back end of the tray. Around 3” x 4” x 1”
