Question is bentley useful for older cars?

is the bentley manual a worthwhile purchase for those with older 911s? i know it won't have anything on my 2.2l's MFI or 901 tranny. what might it be useful for? i have the semi-useful haynes already but i know bentleys are great (i have one for my gti). opinions anyone? thanks!

I like have as much info as I can get to give me enough confidence to tackle the jobs. You only need to do one small job to pay for the book too, so my recommendation is yes and to buy Waynes 101 projects book also

lack of confidence isn't my problem. if anything, i have too much when it comes to working on cars.

already have wayne's book... chalk another one up for our host!

i'm a p-car newbie, so pardon my ignorance... what does the p tools manual consist of (other than the obvious from the title)?

regarding my original question... more specifically, is there content in the bentley that is not found in other sources (apart from the expensive factory sets) or perhaps more clearly described for the layman? i'm a decent "shadetree mechanic" (just changed the head gasket in the g/friend's car), but the haynes books usually leave something to be desired.

thanks for listening to my blah, blah, blah...

Bently is written in minimal procedure style, but covers alot of the important points. Sort of like an early computer mamual - I like it.

The Bentley Carrera manual is 95-percent applicable to my '83SC. The Haynes book is marginally useful as a doorstop.
