Smile New York, New Jersey, Connecticut Fun Run!!

Hi there all you Tristate Pelicans!

Just another reminder that we're meeting this Saturday, October 25th at 9:00 AM at the gas station and parking/ride at exit 5 off the Palisades.

My last 2 weeks at work have been beyond busy so I have been a bit slow with the details for this run but I think it would be a ton of fun. I'm bringng my almost 5 year old daughter and I think gsxrken is bringing his sons!

Pass the word, we'll shoot up the Parkway take in the sites and I promise to post a route and pit stop locations this week!

PM or email me at adam_margolis@preceptmedical.com

My list only includes JBripps, Paul Andersen, gsxrken, Phoenix so far!

Adam

C'mon fellas. The weather is suppose to be fantastic. There aren't too many days left to catch the scenery and then the cars will be back under blankets in the garage.

Let's go...........we need more participants.

regards,

Here's the route

Ok so here we go!
As a reminder we're meeting around 9:00 AM at the Rest stop by Exit 5 off the Palisades. If you're in NYC take the George Wash Bridge out of the city, pick up the Palisades and head north. From Northern Jersey, personally I would recommend just take the Garden State to 287 East, to the Palisades South (which is exit 9 on the Palisades) and heading to exit 5.

We'll hang out there collect everyone we can, have a cup a joe and move out.

Continue north on palisades to perkins memorial drive real tall mountain just before the bear mountain bridge, exit 19. We can use that as the scenic look snap some pics.

Then head over the Bear Mountain bridge go through the awesome smooth twisties for about 5 miles, turn around to repeat, and then head back across the bridge towards west point.

Head to route 6 to some other road (signs to west point) and depending on the time have an early lunch/late breakfast there. I checked Army football is out of town so West Point should be reasonable...After lunch and last pics head off to our afternoon plans?

How does that sound?

Once again, email me if you want to join in adam_margolis@preceptmedical.com all day on Friday, Adammargolis@comcast.net Friday night and cel phone 908-313-3290.

Bring cameras, friends, kids, spouses! Can't wait to meet some tristate Pelicans or Rennlisters.

Adam

Sounds like a good route, see you Saturday AM! Looks like the weather is shaping us nicely. Do I get off at Palisades exit 5 or is the gas station on the median NEAR exit 5? (coming from the north) Thanks

AARGHHH, I'm out for this weekend.

Putting new seats, steering wheel and a clutch cable in the car. Can't do the work on Sunday due to family obligations.

Have fun guys and take lots of pictures.

Hi there,

This is the station NEAR exit 5 on the NY side. You can access it from both sides of the palisades. If you have any problems, please call my cell phone at 845-323-2748. From the north, I'm pretty sure it's a mile or 2 past exit 5's. We may slightly change the latter part of the route, but I'll go over that at the "driver's meeting" in the morning. Should be a great time, with great weather.

regards,

I've been too swamped to check in. I'm glad this is still on - I NEED the diversion. Thanks Adam and Jon. See you at 9:00.

Anyone have a good radar detector with them? I take the PIP frequently and am seeing more and more troopers and PIP police sitting and waiting - it's also the end of the month (though that shouldn't matter because there are no quotas...and we won't be exceeding any limts... 50 mph is just perfect for the PIP )
