83 Sc

Wish the color was differn't, but great history to go along with the car?

Is this car gold color?

JackT 08-05-2003 04:31 AM

I have seen this color in person and it is not bad. Its a red metallic. When clean it has alot of depth to the color. I think the tail looks a little heavy on this car, but besides that I like it.

They state that the car has a 3.2 L engine. Either they are mistaken, or the car does not have the original engine, in which case it sure wouldn't be a collector car, as they state. I don't see anything really great about the car - it's nice looking, but there are plenty of nice looking SCs around.

That's the second time that cars been on e-bay. I like the colors with the polished Fuchs...it's nice to have something different.

I believe it's been on eBay at least 3-4x...I like the color, but they always want too much

nostatic 08-05-2003 07:18 AM

that dealer always wants top dollar...and in this soft market? good luck...

For 10K (If I had 10K) I would go look at it!

This car listed on their website for $26000. It is a nice car but someone is delusional if they expect to get that.

The picture of the engine does NOT look like my 3.2L.

They are mistaken, check the photo of the engine compartment, standard 3.0 SC motor with the original Yorky compressor.

I talked to those guys once, he insisted that it would go for over 20k! I told the guy im sorry to say that there is no way, he insisted that was a good price.... ignorance sucks sometimes!

I bought my 81SC with 67k in as good condition for $16k. It is crazy to pay more than that for an SC.

JackT 08-05-2003 11:41 AM

It is probably a $15,000. car if there is absolutly nothing to do to it, which is never the case. I also wonder how hard it would be to match the paint if the buyer did not like the whale tail. Thats probably another $1,000. so it is a $14,000. car in my eyes.

At 21K, with one day to go

Nice to see that an SC is selling for over 20K.

radcon 08-10-2003 12:14 PM

Just because the bid says that it's up to $21K, I wouldn't trust it. There are a lot of phony bids thrown in by the seller on some of those auctions to get attention. Especially since it hasn't even met the reserve yet. Not different than a live auction where there will be a friend or family member bidding up an item. Happens all the time. Or maybe there are a couple fools out there that are competing over this car. Hard to imagine an SC, even a nice one, bringing this much money when you could get a Carrera or for a few thousand more a nice 964. This car will probably be on ebay again in a couple weeks with the exact same add. See it happen all the time.
