There was a special on cable (Discovery or Learning channel) that dealt with the Porsche 911, Ferrari and Calloway. It was narrated by Jay Leno. He went through each car, detailing the history and spoke of the unique engineering philosophy of each. He had good things to say about Porsche...but consistently pronounced the name Porsche incorrectly. "Poorsche" |

Jay Leno once passed me on the Hollywood Freeway in a little one-seater race car -- sort of looked like a Formula Ford. He was easily doing 100 mph or more, in rush hour traffic. Love it! He used to have a jet-engined motorcycle, but quit riding it when he set someone's Corvette on fire with the jet exhaust. Hilarious! He's one of those LA icons you can see everywhere - and driving very nice cars. Leno's like that other icon whose into fine automobiles... Angelyne...:D |

I've seen Leno driving around in an old something-or-other too; in Burbank near the studios IIRC. I think it's cool that -- unlike many of the local people in "the industry" -- he gets out amongst the general public very regularly. He's clearly a car nut and sheesh, even though WE happen to be p-car fanatics, there are plenty of other worthy marques in the world to obsess upon. :) |

I heard that he plays the little comedy club down in Hermosa every Sunday night...just to practice up on his comedy routine. |
