fuel tanks

What is the approx value or going rate for 911 fuel tanks that have the filler under the hood or through the hood. Is this considered an "RS" tank? I have heard that you can simply weld a neck and filler cap assembly from a 356 on the spot where the sender is and put the sender in the original fuel filler hole as well. Any advice or ideas or values appreciated. I have a 1967 "S".

Thanks,

A.B.
