I have a Venetian Blue over champagne leather 1987 Targa with 24000 miles. It's all original with new tires and service receipts and records. What is it worth? How soft is the market today vs. what was the car worth a couple of years back? Thanks in advance for your replies. I can e-mail pics but they are too large to upload on PP, I guess I need to read the owners manual for the wife's camera. LOL.
Best regards to all. GH

GH,
Not sure where in the world you are, but here in the good old US of A the market is pretty soft. There has been a top-down-driven flood of used late model P Cars entering the old mercado, starting in 2000 with the Dot Bomb, and just accelerating from there as events got progressively worse. If things keep going as they are, we wil all be selling our toys to the new-vo riche Chinese factory owners, as they flood our shores for weekend buying jaunts in a few years.... rant switch OFF! Keith Martin's latest Auction Price Guide for collectible cars lists a 87-89 Carreara targa as selling between $22,500 and $25,000. This may be a bit optimistic as there are 964s crowding this space, and 87-89 cars selling in the teens everyday now. Your low mileage example, with cool color combo may be just the ticket for someone, and in that case you could get this kind of offer. Best plan may be to hang on for a few years, wait out the bad market if you can.. Not much hope for salesabove this range I fear... Good Luck

Well, some people like cars with ridiculously low miles, but some others realize that a little more use is good for a car and actually avoid really low miles cars because if you start putting more miles on them you end up having to do lot's of work. So there are the two common perspectives
I'd say that you are looking at a 20-25K car, probably close to the high end of that. I imagine that a couple of years ago you could have shifted that up by 2500-5000. PS, you can reduce the size of the pics and get them to upload. There's a thread about that here I wana post a pic!!!

GSpreeman,
LOL...LOL...I guess by looking at your odometer I should figure my car has another good quarter of a million miles in her? Thanks for your post! Thanks to Jeremy for helping me post a couple of pictures. I appreciate all of your responses. Haz
