Hi guy's
Im back from my 5 week holiday on the greek islands. I can't say im happy to be back at work. Just buy way of introduction to my story .. my 75 911 was original in every way when i bought it (other than the spoilers) . It had 42000 miles on the clock and the mechanics and interior looked it i.e no cracked faded or worn interior, original air box, no upgraded anything ! It did have a bad paint job though (it was originally a red car but now its blue). Because of the body and lack of records or log books (the car was imported from Hong Kong) I was never 100 % sure of its milage. The moral of this story is that on saturday morning when I put some air in the tyres after many weeks of sitting in the garage I noticed a date on my very old and cracked tyres "1982" YES 20 year old tyres with 80% tread on them. This finally confirmed my suspicions. One look at my car and you can tell its been a garage queen. My question now is with such a low milage car what is the cheapest way to restore the engine to its former glory ? I suspect that I have head stud problems as I can hear a phat phat when driving next to a wall. I also don't know when the last valve adjustment was done (its a bit noisy). I intend to do a valve adjustment soon and look at the headstuds. I was planning on selling my car and buying an SC because I like the rear flares, 3.0, fuchs wheels and now prefer a carrera spoiler and manual gearbox. But now im thinking twice about giving up such a nice car given that I have already spent almost $10,000 to date ? Advice and recomendations please ! |
