Little project, then "while I was in there..." w/pics
I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to change the hood shocks and fuel level sender gasket on Little T. Then it happened: "while I was in there ..."
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1060564184.jpg This car is rock solid; it still amazes me. I pressure washed all the dust and gook out and the metal is completely solid including inside the battery boxes. I cleaned or replaced any ugly hoses, and applied POR15 around the battery boxes and drain holes for good measure. I still have a little wiring to do and the rust proofing around the shock towers is ugly, but the rest is pretty darn clean. I have brand new original trunk carpet - with the sewn-in pocket and plywood bolster - ready to install after I put in the new Interstate U911-50 battery. Little T is turning into a pretty solid driver. The MSD goes in this week, then final tuning of the carbs before I start detailing the engine and engine bay. |
Ray:
Very nice . . . I must be behind the times . . . didn't know you had aquired the T. Can't wait to see the engine bay after you decide to replace the deck lid shock ;) |
LOL.
It must be a local thing. Ray replaces a shock, details the whole compartment. Souk fixes an oil leak, redoes motor and powder coats... Me? Well, I just wanted to drive my darn car and have built and engine and trans in the last 8 months... |
