How to get 996TT rims to fit an older car
What does one have to do to get the newer 996 turbo rims on something like an SC widebody? I have seen pics here and there of others and I can't imagine the size of the spacers that would be required. I have as a flared SC and have 1" and 3" spacers with cup rims currently. I also have some 996 offset Kinesis 8x18 and 10x18 rims that look way too narrow (to my body) when bolted up to the same spacers. I really don't want more spacer in there. Actually, less would be better. Are there any other options, other than selling these rims and buying correct offset wide rims?

Define "spacer".....are you using longer studs? If so, that is the right way.....using 5 lug to 5 lug adapters is not a real good idea. It also fails tech fo AX or DE.
BTW Anything over 4 inches tends to be hard on the wheel bearings....

On my car I have longer studs and the spacer, not an adapter.
I have seen cars on ebay with the 996 rims and am wondering how the heck the get them all the way out there to fill up the fenders. Like I said, I was hoping to use less spacer... |

Probably aftermarket copies with early offsett and spacers.

Actually, i've been told that just about any spacer add-on will cause premature bearing wear.
