68 2.0 motor value
Hi,
I am selling a 68 2.0 (130hp) motor that will need a rebuild. Any ideas on what I should ask for it? The motor turns freely and was running when it was removed. There was a decent sized oil leak but I think it might have been from me over filling it. But I do think it will definetly need a top end rebuild at the least. The motor is complete without carbs. not that much I am afraid.
I've been proposed a 2.0 T (110 hp) brand new for 1500 € / $ it is a never mounted engine, used 5 hours a year for carb tuning lessons in a mechanic school. 1500 $ - (rebuilt value) < 0 ! keep it for spare parts, or sell it part by part : alternator + fan, ... dooop |
