Left cam tower oil fitting update

Hi,

I recently changed the right cam tower oil fitting and wanted to change the left one tonight. Can you install the left oil fitting without removing the cam oil line? Is it possible to move the line a little to remove the fitting?

I understand that in order to remove the line, I would have to remove the distributor which I would like to avoid.

I replace the left cam oil line a couple of week back, but I removed the dizzy. I think that it would be almost impossible to remove the oil line without removing the dizzy out of the way.

Ruf-Porsche,

Thanks for the answer. My explanation should have been a little clearer. I want to replace the oil fittings as pictured below

If I can't do it without removing the distributor, I guess I will wait and do the upgrade next time I really need to mess with the timing.

Neil,

The oil line doesn't have to be removed ... it can stay in place while the banjo bolt is removed and the three sealing rings and adapter are replaced.

The end of the oil line underneath the distributor need not be disturbed.
