Door beams

Do '74 911 doors have reinforcement or "safety" beams inside them, and if so, how can they be removed. Are they particularly heavy?

Thanks.

Yes. To remove them, you need to deskin the door, remove the beam, then reskin the door. They are heavy, but not worth the cost to remove.

I can't remember if it's 16 pounds each, or 16 pounds for the pair. It's been too long.

Maybe someone has done this recently?

"Deskin?"

Are we talking doors or deer?
