Pelican Parts Owner's Exemption - 911 3.2 Factory Twin Plug Airplane Heads For Sale...

Okay, here's another one that's going up on eBay. I bought these way cool heads at Pomona over a year ago from a friend (unfortunately, he passed away recently). I was originally going to put them in my "killer" 911 3.2 Short Stroke engine, but I realized that the wouldn't fit my specs exactly, and I didn't want to modify them, seeing how they are a piece of Porsche History.

So, up on eBay they go. Here's the link, auction starts tomorrow at 10AM:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2427480510

Happy Bidding!

-Wayne

In response to a question about whether they would work on a stock 3.2L

Hi there. They should work fine on a stock 3.2. If you're looking at the pics, then you will see they use spacer seals (on one head) on the intake ports in order to make the manifolds fit. Not a major problem.

These heads would work fine on a stock 3.2, but they would really shine on something like a 3.4.

You know, it seems to be working *extremely* well. For nearly every auction that I've listed with a bunch of pics, the item has sold quickly and at my buy-it-now price. Either I'm pricing the stuff too low, or the pictures really help. It's nice to have your own server to post pics on...

Man, I'm sad to see these go - these are freaky cool heads...

Wayne, what about a turbo 3.3?

Even if there is a small compression bump I might be interested.

Well, these heads were obviously used on a 3.2 Turbo, so they would be immediately applicable to a 3.3 Turbo. I believe that these heads are almost exactly the same as your existing 3.3 Turbo heads, but with larger ports. The compression bump typically comes from pistons & cylinders (I suppose you could flycut the heads). These would work great to twin-plug your 930 (required if you wanted to indeed increase the compression). The bigger ports will help too. If you're running a K27, I believe you're pushing more air through your stock heads than your original system. So, you may have some restriction issues with your current heads that you wouldn't have with these.

Designing and running a Turbo system is very much art and science together - you have to balance all of the components together to achieve your maximum power output...

Turbo aerospace heads would indeed give you unprecedented bragging rights though!

Wayne, I would be surprised if you did not get a call from somebody with a German accent asking to buy these back from you as soon as possible at any price.

When Porsche discontinued the PFM they reportedly bought up all the Mooney PFM's they could find and re-engined them. Would save millions in liability premiums, let alone settlement costs.

I read your description and noticed machine work mentioned a few times.... My question is this, will these bolt on a '86 3.2 or are they in need of machine shop work first to freshen them up??

Damn, still no bids?

I guess I'm not the only person who is too poor to bid on them right now.
