Turbo owners - must hit boost on every drive!

I love how Porsche instructs turbo owners (in my '87s manual, at least) to hit full boost in 1st gear on every drive. Maybe the cops will understand... "Officer, I was just following the instructions in the owners manual."

See the special note for the turbo below.

Gee, I never read that page but I'm glad to know that I was following proper operating procedure.

Wow, full throttle to 5,500 RPM would definitely get you a citation for exhibition of speed. I would think a 4 speed Turbo would be moving along pretty well with WOT to 5,500 revs!!! You better have that manual handy when you get pulled over...

Would that REALLY help you get off a ticket? If I were a cop I wouldn't know what to do with that one!

Then the little LED mounted on my dash lites up as we hit 0.65 Bar and the Andial Fuel Enrichment system dumps 30% more raw fuel in to the system, the engine noise changes and we are in full afterburner mode.

Thank-you for playing, next contestant please!

God do I love that car.

I wonder how many owner's manuals for other cars have a section on "maximum downshifting points?"
