This sucks. I suspect that since all these cities are on different power grids and power plants, something bad happened.

I hope I'm wrong, and that it turns out to be too many people with their A/C on.

Yup. So far I've heard reports about Boston, NJ, Detroit and some parts of USA North.

On my SUV, one can hook their laptop to an outlet and go on for days...

Oh, BTW, seems like lightening hitting the power generators in Niagara Falls "sparked" this off...

well, my wife's flight got out of Logan at 6:30pm EST, so seems power was up there.

I don't think Boston was hit - I'm here and just learned of the outtage now when I checked MSNBC.

I guess what comes around goes around...the West Coast had their wide-grid outages about two years ago.

Boston is OK. Hartford, Waterbury CT are out. I hope everyone is safe!!
