where can I get this oil fitting to the engine case?
I need to get a new oil line attachment piece that attaches to the engine case and the oil return line screws into. This is from a 65 case, so it is too small to use the updated oil lines. As you can see from the picture I need a larger size.
Does anyone know the exact size that I need? And, where would you look for this part? Hardware stores and auto part stores don't have it; where should I look?? Any help is greatly appreciated. This is part of my project to add an external oil cooler to my 65 911. Thanks everyone! here are some images of what I'm talking about: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1060926228.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1060926245.jpg |
Get some measurements and bring that and any parts you can carry to a hydraulic hose shop. You may need a visit a few before you find the one that stocks the parts. An alternative is to have them make one by welding two appropriate halves together.
Also, if you do not have a PET Disk, go to the Porsche parts counter and ask to look up the part you need there. It may give you the sizes. |
I'd try a Porsche dealer. Their parts catalog refers to that piece as an "adapter".

Is that the fitting that has the oil line that goes over the transmission and into the Oil tank? Try a Porsche dealer that is a factory part. Or you can try this company:

Thanks - I am off to try the dealer. Yes, that is the oil line attachment where the line goes from the case to the oil tank. Hopefully it won't be incredibly expensive for such a simple part - but the dealer is known for that!!

if they don't have what you need and you know the size. Try www.mcmaster.com

I recently replaced that piece. Formerly part no. 999.136.008.00, known as crank union/adapter, now is part no. 999.136.008.09 @ $14.23 plus shipping from Stoddard, superceded part. Chuck Moreland's Elephant Racing site has some tech pages that address this part and oil lines for the various engine years. Good luck. Tom
