Just curious, how many owners did your car have before you took over caring for it?

Two. First owner had it for 110,000 miles and kept all the records. Second owner (Pelican head) had it for around 15,000 miles and added to the records and I have had it for the last 2 years.

The dealer owned it. Traded in a 1977 280Z 2+2 for $7000.

Just one, I bought it with 29k miles. He was not a porsche guy but did take pretty good care of it. Mostly he didn't wash the bird droppings off and it left two spots on the car, hood and left front fender, where the paint is etched.. dirty birds!

I am the fifth owner of my car. However, it appears every one of the previous 4 owners cared for my car almost as much as I do. Well, except maybe for the guy who put on the warped aftermarket fiberglass Carrera tail instead of buying the factory one. But he did spring for the factory rubber lip. Go figure.

Two previous owners. A "concrete magnate" who bought the car new at a dealership in Stuttgart and a civil service employee working for the Army who brough the car to the US.

He bought it here in SoCal and owned it for 26 years before I bought it in 2000 when it had about 36K miles on it. I've put about 5K on it since, mostly sports car fridays. Original and unrestored.

I believe 5. My 73 has records from 78 on. First owner unknown, then owned for several years each by 2 different Air Force colonels, then by the assclown who let it sit outside for 7 years because the ignition box was dead and the last guy who bought it to drive but had 20+ other porsches and sold it to me.
I'm hoping to find out it was originally owned by Huggy Bear from Starsky & Hutch! Jeff |
