 Fuchs... Polished or Not?

		Here is the 911 question.
	- Aren't polished centers in Fuchs a lot more work to clean and Polish? - Aren't the Satin Black Centers in most similar year Fuchs easier to keep clean? Benson |

Here is my car with both: There is nothing wrong with either in my opinion and it is up to your taste. I think of polishing the centers of the fuchs as bringing out the best qualities of the wheels. When they are painted black, it is difficult to make out any detail of the nice design these wheels have.

 One more vote for polished

While there is something cool looking about the polished centers, they also kind of look like something I'd see on a Camero.

I much prefer polished lips with painted spokes. IMO looks much more Porsche-like. 100% polished looks too ricey/Pep Boys I think.

I think it depends on the car (color). I think on 89911's Carrera, the black looks better.
I think on a black car, mine, the polished spokes look better. Could you imagine BB1 without polished paddles? |

Dead Milkmen! You are correct sir. Ever since I got XM Radio, I've been able to pull up tons of songs from my college days. You don't get to hear them, "King Missle" or the "The Cramps" on your everyday radio much.

Damn, I voted wrong. I thought you meant FULL polished.
For me, it depends on the car's color as well as it's trim. If it has chrome trim, then polished or anodizes paddles. If black trim, them black centers, but the polished paddles can work with black trim if the color is right. |

 Chrome paddles

Chrome is easy to keep looking great. Al Reed did my wheels and told me never to use chrome polish. Just a hit of Windex and a paper towel and they look just like day I picked them up from Al. I find after 60 miles of driving the dust has knocked back the polish a little. It takes 3 minuets to make them look new. Chrome or polished, the paddles should not be black. My humble option.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1061079917.jpg

When my Fuchs were black, they never got a comment. Just yesterday a 20-ish guy walked up to my car and wanted to know where I got the wheels. I hear it all the time. (Thanks, Al Reed.) :)

PORSCHE - FUCHS RIMS... TO POLISH OR NOT TO POLISH?

Jack Olsen, your Rennlist page 3.6 911 is head turner. Wow!!!
What do you do to finish wax you car? That paint job is amazing! Is that faded black Porsche in you post the same one as is on the Rennlist site? Moses love your IROC bumpers. Your 911 is Soooo nice! Love the overall package on your 911 with the Targa. Jeremy964.. Your Porsche is a beauty. Thanks for the pics and the close up of the FUCHS RIM. It's just the best and especially with that FULL COLOR PORSCHE emblem In the middle. Before I made this post I was really partial to the FUCHS with the SATIN BLACK spoke and center. You are turning me around to go with you and the polished centers!!! Burton73us. What a million dollar looking car you have. Thanks for the tip on the polished wheel cleaner. Your wheels are just perfect for your Blue 911 Cab. Thanks 89911... Thanks for posting and getting the ball rolling. Love your car. Guards red is my favorite. QUESTION? Some say a red sports car is a magnet for the police. Have you had any problem with this or are you just the kind of driver that has no problem? Mark Wilson, nice SHOWCASE of Porsches !!! How many of those are yours? Is your thumbnail pic STIR FRY (my favorite)? Can not really see what it is. Thanks. Benson  |

Here's a little polishing thing I did. It's certainly not Al Reed quality, but I did it in a weekend. I couldn't stand the all black look of the wheels, so I went full polished.

With a black trimmed car, for me, it's got to be black centres. Too 'glitzy' all polished.
